The words “JOS. R. CARPENTER” are in white on a colored tablet; other parts of the imprint are in color. The words “PATENT JULY 13TH 1869”
are on a line below the imprint. Used on the second, third and fourth issues of Documentary stamps and the 1871-4 Proprietary stamps.
The $200 and $500 plates have only the imprint without plate numbers.
